About us

Driven by the field, not the boardroom.

Monkey Rescue is a young, enthusiastic organisation founded by four environmental scientists who decided that real change starts on the ground.

Our story

Why we started Monkey Rescue

We founded Monkey Rescue after witnessing the threats facing rainforest ecosystems first-hand — to the wildlife, to the forests and to the people who live there. We came to one conclusion: action in the field is the best way to start pushing change in a positive direction.

It doesn't take much more than a glance at a satellite map to see the drastic, ever-accelerating deforestation that has scarred these equatorial zones in just a few decades. From the South American Amazon to the forests of Africa and South-East Asia, the damage is impossible to ignore.

With the support of our donors and the communities we work alongside, we want to make a lasting, positive impact — for the wildlife and for the generations to come.

What guides us

Our values

Compassion

Every rescued animal and every community partner is treated with care and respect. People and wildlife thrive together.

Evidence

As scientists, we let research lead. We invest where the data shows we'll make the biggest difference.

Partnership

We work with local communities, never against them — because lasting change is built together.
